[Social Movement For Change (SMC)] Urgent Help Is Needed In Adamawa State. - by: Usama Dandare - September 11, 2014

It has come to our notice that hundreds of Nigerians who flee the ongoing war between Boko Haram and Nigerian troops are still trapped on mountain tops and surrounding bushes for many days without food, drinking water, shelter or any means of livelihood.

Residents from the villages of Michika, Gulak, Fintiri, Mubi and some other towns of Adamawa state where there's an intense gun battle going on are forced to fled into bushes and nearby mountains as gunfire rang out in the towns.

There is an urgent need of humanitarian aid to hundreds of people including children and elderly women, they are in a serious critical situation and are in need of humanitarian assistance as many of them are without food or water and have to feeds on grasses and unripe corn to survive.

It is on this note, that Social Movement for Change is calling on the Federal Government of Nigeria to establish refugee camps for these poor citizens and provide them with some basic needs of survival.

We also call on the international communities, wealthy individuals, humanitarian and donor agencies to quickly intervene and come to the rescue of these innocent poor individuals, and save lives.

SMC equally condemned in strongest terms the barbaric and unholy activities of Boko Haram sect, and the less care attitudes exhibited by Nigerian authorities toward the so-called fight against terrorism.

We also wish to reaffirm our commitments to fight for justice, peace and freedom of all Nigerians at all cost. We urge all well-meaning citizens to remain calm and cooperate with security agencies to maintain peace and harmony in the nation.

God Bless SMC.
God Bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Signed.
Usama A. Dandare
National Coordinator,
Social Movement for Change (SMC).
